Why Roseville was Voted 7th Happiest City to Live In
As the City of Roseville states, if you’re happy and you know it, you live in Roseville! A recent study gave Roseville, CA a rating of the 7th happiest city to live in in the United States. There are so many reasons why Roseville has earned this reputation, from its strong economy and job market to its excellent schools and outdoor activities. Whether you have a family, you’re a young professional, or a retiree, Roseville has so much for everyone!
Roseville has a strong and diverse economy, which is a major reason why the city continues to grow and thrive. The city's largest employers include Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Roseville Medical Center, and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, which provide a variety of job opportunities in the healthcare, technology, and retail sectors. Also, we are home to several large shopping centers, including the Westfield Galleria at Roseville and the Fountains at Roseville, which provide a variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Mikuni’s and Zocalo’s restaurants at the Fountains are two of my favorites.
Spending time outside and being active are critical for mental health and happiness. Here in Roseville, we enjoy mild winters and hot, dry summers. With so many sunny days, there is plenty of time to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, biking, golfing and swimming! There are plenty of amazing parks, splash pads and trails to adventure on. Roseville also has many fitness clubs, including Lifetime and Villa Sport, which offer a wide variety of exercise options - from tennis and swimming to barre classes and yoga.
Another reason why Roseville is a great place to live is the quality of its schools. The Roseville Joint Union High School District and Roseville City School District both have excellent reputations for providing a top-notch education. You can check out the school districts on our Local Resources page.
Roseville is located just 16 miles northeast of Sacramento, which makes it a convenient location for both work and play. We are just a short drive away from amazing locations like Lake Tahoe, Napa Valley, and San Francisco. My husband and I just went to the Greek Theatre in Berkeley for an amazing concert and it was a short hour and a half drive for us.
Roseville also has excellent healthcare facilities, including the Sutter Roseville Medical Center, which is a top-ranked hospital in the Sacramento area.
Of course we also have my favorite area - the Historic Old Roseville and Downtown areas, with several community events throughout the year, including the Downtown Tuesday Nights, their summer concert series and the Roseville Food Truck Mania nights. These events provide opportunities for us all to meet new people and connect with our community. It’s also a great area to walk around the neighborhoods and see all of the houses filled with character and history.
Roseville has a cost of living that is very affordable compared to other California cities. This makes it a great spot for Bay Area residents to move close by, while maintaining a great quality of life with more affordable housing. Send this to all your friends considering a move to the area : ).
